Sourdough starter crackers

Ingredients

200g sourdough starter

20g melted butter or ghee or olive oil

1g salt

Topping (optional)

dried herbs, sesame or Nigella seeds

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients well.

  • Spread thinly directly on a baking tray or use a silicone mat/parchment paper.

  • Sprinkle with dried herbs, sesame or Nigella seeds.

  • Put in a heated oven (160C) for 10 minutes, score squares with a table knife while the dough is still soft (you can skip this step and break the crackers into odd shapes after baking).

  • Continue baking for 35-45 minutes until the crackers are very crispy.

  • Break into pieces if you didn’t score earlier.

  • Store in a jar or any airtight container.
